What does Lautēm mean and what is the brands’ philosophy?
Lautē is a latin adverb that means „done with excellence“.
Excellence is just the perfect excuse to give our best everyday. We strive to offer our customer a product that is excellent in terms of design and production. In terms of design we try to offer an object that is unique with a strong personality. We believe that bags are an important part of the message a woman gives with her style. So we design bags that do not leave indifferent.
Lautēm is committed to the society we live in, because excellence means also taking care of customers and all the people participating in the supply chain. The superior quality leather is made in Spain as well as the whole production is located there. We also take care of the right compensation for everyone involved in the production.
We also create only a few handbag models each year without looking at the imperatives dictated by seasonalities. Our aim are beautiful objects which are made to last and enjoy.
I really like your Structurae Collection with its special design. Please tell us more about it.
Structurae is Lautēms’ first collection. It clearly reflects my architectural background, it pays tribute to classic modernism, especially to the Bauhaus movement, while I tried to add a touch of contemporary sensibility. Attention paid to details, proportions and volumes in order to create an object that is essentially beautiful and functional.
The leather has only been treated with a light finish to preserve its natural surface structure. Each bag is handmade, so little imperfections make each object unique and irrepleceable.

You also sell your products in China. What is your experience with that market in comparison to the European market?
We were pleased to discover that the Chinese market is not only about the logo. There is lot of attention to new designers and new creations.
